ladies, what if your boyfriend costs more body treatments than you? HAIR Don't think of it as another dang thing to wash, think of it as your crowning achievement. A top stylist can match your looks with your locks, and tell you how to maintain order between oil changes. Haircut with highlights $200 Hair wax from Gatsby $7 EYES The mirrors of the soul can flash mixed signals. Make sure yours say, "I'm youthful, detail-oriented, and have two perfectly symmetrical eyebrows." Moisturizing treatment to reduce puffiness and crow's feet $60 Eyebrow trimming kit from Shiseido $13 FACE Because death masks tend to startle the living, you'll make a better impression if you minimize the damage caused by years of neglect and overexposure to the elements. Do we have to say it again? Cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate. And if that doesn't work, spackle over intransigent defects and surprise eruptions with foundation or concealer. One-hour facial $95 Hydrating lotion by Shiseid...

Yiwen Zhu

she is a friend of mine. she was class mate during my MSc programme in Delft. a shy and quiet lady, but extraordinarily amazing. I've put her photo diary (that's how she calls it) weblink on my side bar, but still I wanna put more of her captured pictures on my blog, specially for her. I love the way she explores the viewpoints. check these for examples: but above all, I found her really poetic, since the first time I knew her. I become more and more convinced after seeing her debut photo on her website: all pictures above are courtesy of Yiwen Zhu

question.

what is your weakness and your strength. Hmm...tough one. Never had such question before. I know it is just part of ordinary interview questions. Was on a job interview yesterday. three inteviewers, and I was located as if in a judgement hall. Highly formal. Two foreigner, one Indonesian. I tried my best to be my self. Hard enough...with a blocked nose and bubble moving to and fro my nose and stuck in my brain. I was under Flu medicine, too. Completely out of focus. but this particular answer stays forever in me. at night i have problem with sleeping. Severe headache and fever. But still I was thinking. What is my weakness and my strength? I mean truly...I never really think about it. I've done so many S-W-O-T analysis. but never on myself. Weakness and Strength are just like 2 sides of a coin. They can be flipped in certain condition. had some Asanas before went to sleep. Sweated all over. I tried to sleep.... the question is still unanswered. I didn't get the job. But I'm...
I am so illiterate...sigh~

end of vacation

ok, it is (or was?) five days leave I took from the office. Great, went to singapore, originally for 3 days family gathering and some other stuff for my future life. Yet, seems I've been in Singapore only for having fun, fun, fun. good...since I got emails already on next things to do at office. Now trying so hard to type this blog faster, using free internet at Changi and only 8 minutes left. Will post some pictures
funnily absurd. A movie for those who don't wanna think too much. (cute sketch!)

Weekend Thoughts

Temper Switch If you are ‘your own self’ does it mean you own all your inner and outer entities? Body and soul, Emotion and logic, Thoughts and acts? Is it something like having an on-off emotional/biological switch that is completely under your authority? Better Job Define it, please. Higher salary? Good working environment? Enjoyable assignment? Completely new place? Travelling all around the world? Choices or no-choice Which one do you prefer most? Choices with only one way ticket. No-choice…no further explanation needed 30 Is it really a critical age for female? If a female choose to embark on another life at this ‘critical age’ Is there any possibility to be back to the comfort zone? Confidence How can you get and maintain it forever? --without being accused as a snob. Focus Simple word, most unlikely to be performed. Boys Don't Cry for bedtime story. Not a wise decision...good movie, wrong time.

bodo-bodoan*

*(more then) stupidity Today, officially the gasoline price is increased, almost twice then normal. It is indispensable, I may say, since everybody knows the world oil condition. Nevertheless, the government try to implement some low-end policy. It is super short-minded one. Today too, they distribute the compensation money (read my lips: I.N..C.A.S.H) of gasoline increased price, to so called poor people. From TV I learned that they registered these people per Kelurahan (Sub-District) based on BPS (National Statistic Agency). Most Indonesians (or foreign researcher) who have dealed with this agency know how unprecise the BPS data is. (isn't it ふじの?) The vice president had interview with local so called poor people, and he kept laughing on their comments. WHAT A JOKER! gee.. another sad things.... Bali has been blasted again. It was just an hour ago. If you read Indonesian, go to : www.kompas.com Shall Indonesia mourn once again? bodo-bodoan, kaya' pembantu lempar-lemparan cabe...

What do you get when you fall in love? A guy with a pin to burst your bubble That's what you get for all your trouble. I'll never fall in love again. I'll never fall in love again. What do you get when you kiss a guy? You get enough germs to catch pneumonia. After you do, he'll never phone you. I'll never fall in love again. I'll never fall in love again. Don't tell me what is all about, 'Cause I've been there and I'm glad I'm out, Out of those chains, those chains that bind you That is why I'm here to remind you What do you get when you fall in love? You get enough tears to fill an ocean That's what you get for your devotion. I'll never fall in love again. I'll never fall in love again. What do you get when you fall in love? You only get lies and pain and sorrow. So, for at least until tomorrow, I'll never fall in love again! I'll never fall in love again! Don't tell me what it's all about `Cause I've been...

dear stranger...

Today I just feel like writing for you. Thou I don’t know if you know me and maybe you even never notice me. You are just like other strangers I passed by on my way to office, out for lunch, q-ing at ATM, or maybe the one who ride motorcycle I almost hit few days ago. How are you? What are you thinking right now? I saw you sometimes look empty, drifted somewhere no body has know. Do you have any friend? Family? Husband, wife, kids or relatives? Excuse me if I’m a little bit noisy. I am just right now thinking if I can guess what is in your head. I saw you stepped into my Mom’s bakery just now, straight to the cakes shelves. Picked one or two then you asked for wrap to go. ‘Berapa?’you asked, ‘Tujuh ribu, bu’, pelayan answered. Well yeah, suddenly you mentioned something about q-ing for more then an hour at the gas station, and as you reached there, they only allowed you to fill up to 25.000. ‘Gila ya, sudah tunggu lama-lama…’ Hmm..so that is one of your worries. You know, stranger, yes...
good food, good talk, good luck to you.

empty

that's the office as I arrived today after seminar. somes have said I'm not a person that can be alone. not preferable for a working environment. Office is so empty. Most of the Japaneses have returned to Tokyo, directly after the workshop. The only late bird will be leaving tomorrow morning, then only several local staff will stay. I have several other things to do, and that is also good since I will definitely have all the time for those things... But still, empty office is not a nice working environment. knock knock...anybody's there?

Married to Oncom

What do you wanna be for your next life? Huh? What do you wanna be for your next life? Vegetable or Fish? Huh?? I don't really believe in next life. I prefer to be human being, just like now. Well, you only have those two choices. Hmmm....Fish maybe. Why? I wanna be tomato. What? How come? I love tomato, it is red, pretty, I love tomato. Well...I like tomato too, they are pretty red, yet I never think to be one. Fish is better at least it can move. Ja, agree. It just pretty strange, that you like something and then you wanna be that thing! Well, at least it is better then be married to that thing... what? There's a friend of mine that really in love with something like fermented soya bean. Tempe? No...something with strong smell Oncom? What is that...anyway, I don't know what's the name is. But It is...fermented soya bean with strong smell... And? Well this friend of mine really likes that thing that he would be happy to be married to that thing. Married to an oncom? wh...

Wicker Park Rules!

It was weekend with movies again. I borrowed 3 movies, but just managed to finish 2 of them. One is Wicker Park, the other one is Birth. I love Wicker Park . Yes, with cool soundtrack perfects the movie. It is just some usual love story, with doubts, passions, envies, and unwise decisions. Yet it is not a usual romance movie. Since the movie started I had several conclusions where this story would go, and none of them were rights, and I should change them in 2/3 of the story. The plots (I don’t think it has only one plot) are so thick, that it was difficult for me to take a pause. It is no heavy movie, not even try to be one. The actors are good, I should admit I never really know where have they played before, I think the main character Josh Harnett was in a TV series, but I’m not sure. When it comes to end, I thought it’s going to be another Hollywood style ends, thou yes a bit. But, it runs so fast with sudden thrilled moment that you (at least me) never think would come. I won’t e...

Series of Unfortunate Days

Not of mine, those were of a colleague of mine. I knew him as a person that always tries to make things well-controlled. Won’t leave the office without clean-up his table (even for lunch) and put everything on the right position. Checking twice (or even more) all the assignments he has delegated to others. Writing really slow and carefully. Double (or triple) check when he is doing payroll. I accused him to be ‘obsessive compulsive’ –sure he denies it. Until these last few days… I don’t really say he haS days of bad luck…it sounds like a bad wishes. But some people see things that way. Mouse didn’t work. Left his laptop outside the office. (not unfortunate enough to lose the laptop with all financial reports, our upcoming workshop report, and other important files) Scolded by boss for being late for dinner Failed with some computer programs Lost his spec’s screw… Well, those unfortunate days may haunt some people, you or even me (knocking woods) Some say it is lowest end of your biolog...

Soekarno Hatta Airport, Terminal 1A 5:46:49 AM

Taking earliest flight, I’m off from Jakarta to Makassar, directly to work. Yesterday was Mega’s wedding, my cousin from Mom’s brother. People said that yesterday (18 September 2005) was the best day throughout this year to hold a wedding. Yet still a surprise to see so many wedding cars in parking lots at Mercure Hotel Jakarta. My sis, Nat, said there were about 15 of them! In the afternoon when we went for hairstyling, it was sooo difficult to find a vacant salon. Same reason, too much clients—which would attend wedding party too, just like us. I should have taken a snap of those brides moving here and there at the lobby of Mercure Hotel, since the elevator were jammed by people, there are long q at Elevator Hall—not exception for brides! Now, I’m still half sleepy. I bet I’ll be late for office, and it’s Monday. I think I have no assignment left behind before departing for Jakarta last Thursday, so it won’t be a hectic day (crossing fingers) Purchased a book, Invisible Cities by Ita...
